Why NOT Having a Winter Concert for your Beginners is 1 of the Biggest Mistakes You Can Make

Here's the thing...

Beginner Concerts can:

  1. Build Confidence

  2. Motivate Practice

  3. Encourage Teamwork

  4. Involve the Parents

  5. Instill Discipline

  6. Showcase GROWTH

  7. Set a Meaningful Goal

  8. Introduce Performance Etiquette

  9. Engage the entire School Community

  10. Build EXCITEMENT & FUN for your Program

If you aren’t yet preparing your beginners to perform in a Winter Concert, you need to see this!

Instead of doing a full-out, super stressful, high stakes “concert,” consider instead the “Informance!”

Here’s what the informance might look like:

  • Posture demonstrations

  • Performance etiquette demonstrations

  • A live rehearsal of essential music fundamentals

  • Ensemble games that bring learning to life!

  • And really truly, anything you think should be included!

Don't know how to explain this to your families? We got you, right here! Just copy, paste, and make this your own!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to invite you to our first-ever Beginning Music Class "Informance"! This special event will give you a glimpse into what your child has been learning in music class so far, and you’ll have the chance to see their progress firsthand.

Rather than a traditional concert, this will be an "informance," where students will share some of the fundamentals they’ve been working on in a fun, interactive way! The event will feature:

  • Posture demonstrations

  • Performance etiquette demonstrations

  • A live rehearsal of essential music fundamentals

  • Ensemble games that bring learning to life!

To make this event even more exciting, we’ll wrap up with a mini lesson, where one family member will be invited to join their student on stage for some hands-on fun. It’s a great opportunity to experience what your child is learning and engage with their musical journey!

Event Details:

  • Date: [Insert Date]

  • Time: [Insert Time]

  • Location: [Insert Location]

  • Attire: Informal (feel free to come as you are!)

We strongly encourage all family members to attend and enjoy this celebration of your child’s musical progress. Your support means the world to our students, and this will be a wonderful opportunity to witness their growth and excitement for music.

We can’t wait to see you there for a memorable and fun-filled "informance"!

Sincerely,
